July Favorites: Cuckoo for Coconuts?

Updated: Feb 28, 2021

I'm trying not to think about how quickly it seems August days are ticking by. It appears as though as soon as a July favorites post makes its way on to the blog, I'll be racking my brain for what goodies August brought me. In order to savor every last summer moment for as long as possible, I decided to do a coconut themed favorites. While you'll rarely catch me drinking a coconut water (it's just...not for me) I love to use coconut oil in a multitude of ways. I try to cook all my food in unrefined coconut oil but there are pros and cons to weigh when choosing refined x unrefined - so I'll let you be the judge!

The first product I'd like to shout out is this Conscious Coconut Oil my friends got me for my birthday! (Thanks Jess & Riley!!) That may sound like a weird gift, but the company is a fair trade, sustainable business with a beautiful message.

Take a look at their story here! The various uses of Conscious Coconut oil can be found on their blog, but I mainly use it as a face wash, make-up remover and night time moisturizer.

Originally, I received this next product free from Influenster, a website that survey's your interests and will send you products for free to test and review. If that is something you'd be interested in -- feel free to follow my referal link and get started. Super simple!

I love wearing this, especially this summer because it's nice & light, and it has a little shimmer. It's perfect alone or as a primer & has served me well under BB cream and concealer.

And finally, I use a couple of different types of coconut oils for the following purposes:

Oil training is allowing your hair to begin using its natural oils again by using a coconut oil mask for one day a week. This should restore the hair's natural shine and health!

Oil pulling is swishing coconut oil for a variety of health benefits

If you're interested in learning more about any of these coconut oil uses, let me know!
